MAKE ART/STOP AIDS is an international network of scholars, artists, and activists committed to ending the global AIDS epidemic. Join us!

MAKE ART/STOP AIDS is an initiative of the UCLA Art & Global Health Center, as well as other partnering groups around the world, including the Art & Global Health Center Africa. We're founded on the principle that artists are an essential part of anti-AIDS efforts. Artists are able to shape transformative insights and possibilities that literally redirect how people think and act.

How We MAKE ART/STOP AIDS

We advance an awareness and appreciation for the power of art to address crisis.

We establish artists as key partners in HIV/AIDS interventions around the world.

We inspire attitudinal change through the production and dissemination of powerful, original artwork.

The UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance is committed to a cross-cultural understanding through the arts. Within the department, students can choose between two concentrations: World Arts and Cultures or Dance. The department is designed for self-motivated students who want to study the arts in global and local contexts. An internationally renowned faculty provides fresh approaches to scholarship and arts practice. Our project is interdisciplinary. Inclusivity is our goal. Students are encouraged to take advantage of resources across campus and in greater Los Angeles, even as they learn from each other.
